Italian architect, sculptor, and designer Angelo Mangiarotti created the Plexi lamp in 1962, but at that time it was only produced in small quantities. Plexi can be used as a single piece or grouped together. Plexi works best in large spaces, preferably grouped with other Plexi as an impressive chandelier, which is why its size makes it a suitable choice for large halls or high ceilings, as well as hotels, restaurants, lobbies, and corporate residences. However, even a single Plexi can be transformative, as it will lend an elegant style to any space. Plexi transmits light from one end to the other, not only emitting light from beneath each cylinder but also producing direct light from the bottom end. The bottom end of each cylinder is sanded to spread a wider light on the surface beneath the lamp.
