Moby is an extremely sculptural desktop luminaire. Filled with intriguing contrasts, it balances the gentle and cozy light with an impressive futuristic design. The emptiness of the main element creates a small cap that contains a light source. When Moby is turned on, gentle light unfolds and illuminates the cavity, immediately paying attention to organic curves.
2016 Birgitte Due Madsen and John Trumpaach for Moby received a prestigious silver hetsch medal - the highest Danish art and craft movement in 1879. recognition.
Both designers are leading individual studies in Copenhagen, but their general hobby of soft, subtly plaster material, which is commonly used for visual art and prototypes, has led to this cooperation and to create Moby. Initially, the luminaire was cast from plaster, but now translated into a durable matte acrylic material with a smooth expression of silk.
